Welcome to the Aliansi Pelangi Antar Bangsa website.

Aliansi Pelangi Antar Bangsa is coalition of individuals and organizations who are concerned about the difficulties and discrimination faced by people in mixed Indonesian-foreign marriages.

Since September 2002, APAB has campaigned for changes in the laws that have an adverse impact on children, wives and husbands in mixed marriage families. For mixed marriage families, these laws threaten the rights that are supposedly guaranteed by Indonesia’s own laws on child protection and by its ratification of international conventions on human rights and discrimination.

APAB advocates to parliament and the government and raises awareness among the public about the need to change these laws, many of which were made many years ago in response to certain political or social conditions. Those conditions have changed; it is time for the laws to change too.

APAB needs your support so that we can continue to advocate both to the government and the public about the laws that threaten the unity of our families.

With your support, we can:
  • Hold events and distribute materials to make more people aware of the problems and help to change the negative perception of mixed marriages in Indonesia
  • Keep up our efforts to lobby the DPR and relevant government departments
  • Work with the House Special Committee to ensue that the current Citizenship Bill accommodates the basic rights and aspirations of mixed Indonesian-foreign families both in Indonesia and abroad

HELP US TO CHANGE THESE DISCRIMINATORY LAWS AND CREATE A BETTER FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN AND FOR INDONESIA!
